Rick Rubin will produce the first Sab studio effort since 1978’s “Never Say Die.” Sabbath’s return to the stage follows last week’s reunion announcement that the band will not only do a world tour, but record a new album, as well. Metallica will top the bill on Saturday (9), while Sabbath headlines the Sunday (10) showcase.Ī third headliner - for opening day on Friday (8) - has yet to be announced, along with the dozens of acts that will fill out the weekend. The Download folks have released a 2-minute commercial for the weekend fest, promoting both Metallica and Sabbath as headliners. The weekend event runs June 8-10, 2012 at its regular home in Donington Park. At least two milestones will be marked at Download 2012: it’s the festival’s 10th anniversary, and, the event is the first stop on the Black Sabbath reunion world tour.
